Aspen Yoke Pullover (Meg Swansen) as Zippered Cardigan, resized to 50" bust.
Knitting at a tighter gauge (5.5 st/inch) and creating a cardigan jacket.
Not knitting in the round. Using KH-940 MAx LOOSE Tension to achieve an even 5.5 st/inch on separate
front and back sections. (stop where Yoke will begin) Added 1 edge st to each edge, plus 4 steek sts to front.
Jan 26: front and back completed. Facing on back done in hand knitting. Completed First and Last name inside back facing (stranded).
Blocking F & B while I do the sleeves (on KM).
March 11, 2010: finally able to meet w client for final fitting. Looks lovely. Ready to install zipper and block.
March 20-21: picked up sts for sideways knit band w purl row for turning. completed both. Finishing seems to go on and on…zipper hand-picked.
March 23: Finished! I am pleased with the project, tho the finish working was time-consuming. I’ll call it a labor of love for a lovely lady.
Recieved photos--looks great on her, a perfect fit (it had better be with all my my calculations), and the pumpkin color which dominates the yoke (about which I initially felt “ho-hum”) is perfect with her complexion and hair and eyes.
